It’s Time to Get Finsk-y!

When I first laid my eyes on footwear by FINSK, I couldn’t imagine how an ordinary person could wear them for everyday life. In fact, the only person I can think of that can pull off these kinds of shoes is Lady Gaga! FINSK shoes are known for their modern, fashion forward styles.

London based Finnish designer Julia Lundsten is the force behind FINSK since it started in 2004. Not long after she graduated from the Royal College of Art in London, she has won the Manolo Blahnik Award and the title of Finnish Young Designer of the Year. Her somewhat architectural approach to shoe making has been largely influenced by her upbringing – her father is an architect and her mother, an interior designer.

Each shoe is wonderfully hand made in Brazil using locally sourced materials. Not only that, they also use fabrics/leathers that are labeled as ‘waste’ from other industries. Wow all that and still coming up with these fab designs.

It just goes to show anyone can be green AND fab! Kudos!
