Point Break: Jessica Alba and Jennifer Lawrence Wear the Pointed Toe Craze

Feb 5 2013

Late last year, celebs have been starting to wear the pointed shoe pump from glitzy events to their everyday lives. The pointed toe – especially when paired with sky high stiletto heels – have been known to bring the ‘ longer/thinner leg illusion’ than your usual round toe pump. This year, it seems more have caught on to the trend, including Jennifer Lawrence and Jessica Alba.

Jen wore the Casadei black satin pumps to the 2013 Santa Barbara Film Festival where she received the  Outstanding Performer of the Year Award for Silver Linings Playbook and The Hunger Games. I’m not too fond of her Stella McCartney pantsuit though, it seems the pants aren’t as flattering as it should be for her .

These pumps are available in a variety of styles including suede, snake leather and giraffe print -out of all these options, my favorite would be these patent ones:

We’ve got more pointed shoe styles (strappier and bootie -er, of course)  from Farfetch.

The Versace Factor: Hot New Platforms and More!

Feb 3 2013

Undeniably one of the most popular fashion houses in the Universe, the Versace Group certainly knows how to shake up the fashion industry – in a good way of course! I know most of their styles may seem unwearable to everyday people like us, but still, it pays to be inspired by their looks.

One of my favorite movies – The Devil Wears Prada – so eloquently put “Don’t you know that you are working at the place that published some of the greatest artists of the century? Halston, Lagerfeld, de la Renta. And what they did, what they created was greater than art because you live your life in it.” Couture is really wearable art in essence – and if we can’t afford it, it can’t hurt to look and be inspired by it, right?

With that, we leave you with  a few pieces of footwear to inspire for- some choice platforms from Farfetch’s Versace Collection. I am absolutely in love with these platforms – just looking at them makes my spine tingle!

Timeless Style: Catherine Zeta-Jones in Jimmy Choo at the NYC Premiere of ‘Side Effects’

Feb 3 2013

Along with Julianne Moore, I consider Catherine Zeta-Jones as one of the most well-aged actresses in Hollywood. I love how their fashion has evolved (and improved!) with their years! Catherine, who’s turning 44 this year, can give young actresses a run for their money when it comes to red carpet style.

Catherine always goes for the classic cuts when it comes her choice of gowns, and this Michael Kors number she wore to the New York premiere of ‘Side Effects’ is no exception. With it’s assymetrical hem and black and white print says, ‘I’m timeless, yet timely’.  Although I would’ve loved her further if she got more style to her hair.

What do you guys think?
